Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Sembalun Village – Gunung Anak Dara Campsite

Your adventure begins in the lush, agricultural heart of East Lombok. The goal for today is to conquer the steep savanna ridges and reach the campsite in time for a spectacular sunset.

  • 13:00 – 13:30 | Meet & Greet in Sembalun: Arrive in Sembalun Village. Meet your guide and porters, finalize your packing, and complete the registration at the Gunung Anak Dara trekking center.

  • 13:30 – 14:00 | The Gentle Start: Begin the trek with a relatively flat walk through local strawberry and vegetable farms. This is a great warm-up for your legs before the real incline begins.

  • 14:00 – 16:30 | The Ascent & Tanjakan Cinta: The trail transitions into a steep, continuous climb up the exposed dirt and savanna paths. You will tackle several notoriously steep sections, including the famous Tanjakan Cinta(Hill of Love). Take regular breaks to hydrate and admire the expanding views of the valley below.

  • 16:30 – 17:00 | Arrival at the Campsite: Arrive at the campsite, located just a short distance from the true summit. Your team will set up the tents while you rest and change into warmer clothes.

  • 17:30 – 18:30 | Sunset Watching: Sip on a hot cup of coffee or tea and watch a dramatic sunset. The changing light casts beautiful silhouettes against the backdrop of Mount Rinjani.

  • 19:00 | Dinner & Stargazing: Enjoy a freshly cooked, hot dinner prepared by your porters at the campsite. Afterward, relax under the stars before getting a good night’s sleep in your tent.

Day 2: Summit Sunrise – Descent to Sembalun

Wake up above the clouds for the main event of the trek, followed by a hearty breakfast and the journey back down to civilization.

  • 05:30 | Wake Up & Summit Push: Wake up before dawn. Put on your jacket and headlamp for the final 10 to 15-minute walk from the campsite to the highest peak of Gunung Anak Dara.

  • 06:00 – 07:00 | Sunrise & The Sea of Clouds: Witness a breathtaking golden sunrise. Enjoy the panoramic 360-degree views, take plenty of photos, and watch as the morning mist fills the Sembalun Valley below.

  • 07:30 | Breakfast at Camp: Head back down to the campsite where a warm breakfast (usually consisting of banana pancakes, toast, eggs, and hot drinks) awaits you.

  • 08:30 – 09:00 | Pack Up & Begin Descent: After breakfast and packing up your gear, begin the trek back down to Sembalun.

  • 09:00 – 11:30 | The Descent: The journey down is much faster but requires careful footing. The dry, dusty soil can be very slippery, so take your time and rely on your trekking poles for balance.

  • 11:30 – 12:00 | Arrive in Sembalun: Arrive back at the starting point in Sembalun Village. Say goodbye to your trekking team and conclude your Gunung Anak Dara adventure.
